Parrainages Inde association wishes you best grettings for 2013

Saturday 26 January 2013

As some you knows, I am closely linked to the association Parrainages Inde.  We reproduce here the greetings we sent to our donors in this begining of year

Association Parrainages Inde - Aidez un maman à scolariser ses enfants.

Dear Sponsors, Dear donors,

For this begining of the year, the entire team Parrainages Inde  wishes to present you the best for 2013 , and express gratitude for your support  to the lonely womans and their kids.

Here we started the year with a large meeting of sponsored women and their children. It was an opportunity to remind families the rules that govern our association, but the event was also happy with dances and songs.

Due to the dilapidated premises we occupy Pondicherry (Kamaraj Nagar), we will move to the end of February a new office, easily accessible to families and cleaner. We were in this office Kamaraj Nagar 8 years …

In 2012, thanks to your donations, we were able to continue our actions: establishment of regular English classes, distribution of mosquito nets to families with medical information, purchase of basic equipment for every house (fans, metal cabinets …). All houses destroyed or damaged by the cyclone  Thane have been repaired.

We continue to welcome single women and their children to the office and be attentive to their needs including education and health.

In early February, we will organize a meeting for adolescents with an indial social worker  to inform India about sex and the risks of early pregnancy. We wanted to implement this information due to the distress of sponsored girls, who were married, who had a first child and who regretted their choice today not to have pursued their studies.

The incoming projects for the beginning of the year 2013 are:

  • Information given by a lawyer on legal rights of women against violence.Indian society is moving and in this regard, here is   an article in the newspaper “Hindu” following the death of a young woman raped in Delhi.
  • Training for to how to do  manufacturing jewelry for fifteen women who could sell their production in their neighborhoods and improve their income.
  • Resumption of English courses during school holidays ….

All the light on Lampes de Sologne

Wednesday 16 January 2013

When I went a bit on the web I “stumbled” one day on a photo lamp I ‘ve already saw on Facebook and I immediately liked: design lampshades, foot wooden lamp in perfect harmony with lampshade and especially the end result is just beautiful.

I wanted to know more and I approached the designer of her lamps and this is what she tells us

Can you tell us a little about yourself and your territory Sologne?

Jean-Marc thank you for this interview! I’m Christine Salmon, married 40 years, 3 beautiful children … A life full ultra, devouring passions & Lampes de Sologne today! I am originally from Aquitaine and installed in Sologne Nançay for over 15 years.

Sologne is my adopted home, a forest region located in the central region between the Loire and the Cher. Mysterious legends rocked the Sologne area is rich and diverse. Forests, ponds, marshes, moors compose, oaks and pines are everywhere, the fog prompted sometimes. Sologne is a magical place where nature, culture & traditions mingle discreetly, to unwind and recharge! This place has been a revelation for me.

MR: Why Lampes de Sologne?

It is primarily a love story with the timber. The wood is present all around me & this since my childhood and even more since I’ve been with my husband who is carpenter and frame specialist as a carpenter  companion of duty. Timbering, exposed beams, windows, furniture, lighting, wood is a hyphen decorative natural, raw, reassuring evident between the house and the forest that surrounds me.

It is then a passion for interior design that I care, think, polishes soon as my time permits. I enjoy my designs & classic kinds. I love to hunt in fleas markets, I tinker, I assemble, I associate local handicrafts to create unique worlds. Sologne is my playground, I like to highlight its mystery and grandeur in my creations. Lampes de Sologne are somehow the cornerstones of what I reported my walks in the woods in my bundle inspirations.

MR: How & with what are they made?

I manufacture my lamps by hand in my workshop. The lamp bases are cut from old oak beams. I spent several days looking for the perfect piece of wood from beams, trusses or antique trunks in the forest. I love working on unique designs that offer aesthetically pleasing natural detail. I play with the grain of the wood, its ribs, its nodes, its cracks, texture …

MR: Do you make your feet lamps and lampshades?

I make the feet of lights and draw the blinds. Even if I happen to make some shade, I make most models by a local designer lampshades, recognized for the quality of its fabrics and expertise. It uses some high-end fabrics, natural linens, embroidered some models to the delight of some clients and is always looking for unique designs & surprising.

MR: What templates lamps do you make?

All templates are imagined. Today I present my catalog in small and large models: lamps, lamps & floor lamps lounge. Their size varies between about 40cm and 1 meter 50.

MR: Where can I find Lampes de Sologne?

Currently on the site http://www.lampes-bois.com . My workshop in Nançay (18) will soon be available as a showcase & can therefore accommodate my clients a few weeks. I am also looking for partners who would like to present my lamps Paris & Orleans, I want to call 😉

MR: If you were to give us 3 good reasons to rob the shop lights Sologne, what would they be?

In addition to helping heart that must lead you to contact me to book the model you like, there are actually other reasons that should encourage you to splurge on a lamp Sologne. You ask me three good reasons, they are:

1. + The Artisanal (all models are unique!)

2. + The French manufacturing (lamps are manufactured entirely in Sologne)

3. + The environment (recycling of wood, with little or no transportation, treatment with beeswax …)

I can not help but add a fourth!

4. My lamps are made with the utmost care and have done so far and customers happy!

Do not hesitate to contact Christine she can even make custom lamps

Mes petits cadeaux écolos 100% Home made by Sophie Macheteau

Saturday 15 December 2012

Early December, I received a package in the mailbox of Marron Rouge.

I am still a a true kid and I’m excited to have a package and do not know what’s in there.

Trrrr (drumroll) what in the package …. !!?

A book

A book with a beautiful cover

A book with two names that speak to me:Sophie Macheteauand Marie-Noëlle Bayard.

I put these two ladies in relationship and they make stuff behind my back without telling me ….  !?.

(Smiles)

This book is ” MES PETITS CADEAUX ECOLOS 100% HOME MADE ” BySophie Macheteaupreface and Marie-Noëlle Bayard.

Very nice  meeting I had about 18 months ago, when I was looking for a press agency. We had agreed to Marron Rouge. And from these 18 months I get to know this woman full of heart, bio-Epicurean, funny and very creative. She creates itself (fine) jewellery in  recycled paper and arranges a press conference with her shock team delighting your taste. Energetic, positive and human  are three adjectives that I would attribute to Sophie!

Besides, we will let her speak :

Sophie can you give us a brief overview of your career?

A very eclectic career that has shaped my character and shaped my vision: I made three 8!!

8 years in Film Event

8 years as head of training in a sign very cross about the naturalness

8 years as head of a green advertising agency

From where do you get the taste for Recycling?

The Recycling is not an end but a unique and infinite artistic expression. What I like is from a harmless object like a magazine and see infinite possibilities of transformation and metamorphosis. Marvel again at 41 years of little things in my eyes is a luxury.

 Greedy?

Yes I am both proud and gourmet gourmet be. My winning trio: fruit freshly picked red, my tiramisu pink / matcha and my delight insider (all chocolate).

 The environment funny, but why?

I would not say a pleasure but a necessity, awareness long that I owe to my parents.

When you find the time to write this latest book?

Evening, night and weekend

What made you laugh the most in preparing this book?

Nothing, I do not laugh (LOL)

MES PETITS CADEAUX ECOLOS 100% HOME MADE is a very nice book that reads several times and are in two parts.

The first part gives you advice and I liked Sheet Memo No. 1 Home Made gifts to avoid ….
Here you can find tips, advice and tricks to make yourself beauty products or welfare, candles, scents, sweets, jewelery, bags. You will find lots of good address to buy your ingredients. In short, nothing is missing in this lovely book.

Even wood can be recycled

Friday 27 April 2012

With our friends of Green Team, we have decided for the begining of Spring to sahre about wood

Wood, natural and noble material at the start can also retrain and all stages of wood’s life:

– The first waste from sawmills
– The latter come from all manufactured objects
– Finally all manufactured products are reused and recycled into something else, without making a chemical transformation

The first waste from sawmills that used to make pulp, the manufacture of chipboard. The barks are also used as stuffing material or different chips are also used as bedding

The latter coming from all manufactured objects give amazing results in terms of creativity and we chose this niche there to show you some interesting initiatives.

You all rememberthe Villa Déchet (Waste Villa): The project set up in autumn 2010 by Frederic Tabary (architect) and Yann puddle (set designer) who were inspired by a similar house in California. The bins of Nantes (France) is where they found the raw material and then recycling these materials.

Villa Déchets © Sébastien SALOM-GOMIS/TAbAkERO

The company Atmosphere & Boiswood initiative very interesting and design by reusing wood paneling, old barns Canadian. look instead (in French but website is in english too)

www.atmosphere-bois.com

Turkish designer Gursan Ergil Studio offers the beautiful wood furniture recycled

For those who read English here is a link which explains his ethic approach

And then we’ll finish this post with a video that deals with the poetic recycling of paper …. which is only at the origin of wood! (In french, but very legible for non French speakers)

Do not be afraid to recycle

From a sponsorship to an engagement there is a slice of life…

Monday 27 February 2012

This story begins December 25, 1999: I decide to commit to a sponsorship for a widow women.
Evelyne, who began creating the association Sponsorship India has one of my first cases of a widow of 30 years. Her husband committed suicide three years ago and he left her with two young boys who were older at the time of the tragedy respectively 9 and 6.

It’s been 12 years that I follow this family, although the financial commitment ended there more than two years since the two children have graduated, we always stay in touch.

I followed these two kids and saw them several times during sponsorship jumble few events:

• First meeting with the mother and two children, and we were all four very intimidated because the emotion by this first meeting and over the language barrier because they only spoke Tamil
• First invitation into their home who has to break everything to 4 square meters with a “feast meal” for the guest of honor that I represented to them.
• First school results and their their wishes for the future
• First “surprise” at one of my trips, I spent some time with two boys from either ask what they needed for school, go to cinema. One day I told them to choose something that made them want me and they took it to a dealer to buy a Playstation! And I did not understand because it is expensive and not an object of prime necessity, I had to explain that I was there to try to help them in their schooling and that I was not a “only a wallet”, that even in France all children did not have to live with PS. And they finally understood
• First school guidance “failed” because that does not match their aspirations and their non mathematicians mind They decided both finally enter a mechanics school and they succeed.

• And then two days ago I was very moved because I was invited to the engagement of one of the two. A page in their lives and mine was about to turn but what a nice colorful event and traditions.

• The various stages of engagement (from what I understood):

o The arrival of the guests (many!) while the girl is coming and everyone is waiting in a room and chairs for a conference as rows in front of a stage decorated with flowers and adorned with two armchairs
o We are waiting patiently (!) the arrival of the bridegroom and means outside the room as the musicians in a marching band and then all women of the family are trimmed and carry trays of fruit and flowers in front of the groom

o Guests are rushing into the room and took seats on the chairs.
o The bride just before getting to the crowd, closely followed by the groom

o Large hangings are then submitted to the scene and the men of both families settled on it. They “parley” , confirmed that the two youngs agree, and make some “incantations”

o Guests are rushing into the room and took seats on the chairs.
o The bride just before getting to the crowd, closely followed by the groom
o Large hangings are then submitted to the scene and the men of both families settled on it. They “parley” , confirmed that the two youngs agree, and make some “incantations”
o The bride then comes back wearing a new sari offered by her future mother in law and bejeweled
o The couple are then celebrated, and then come the pictures with the guests.
o The guests will then dine shift and go home

From a “simple” sponsorship I attend this wonderful time all the more that this is love, and they are not arranged betrothal.
A beautiful emotion aroused by beautiful human relationships and I do not complain.
Magic moments from life

I wish to theses two lovebirds happiness!

Meublez-Vous durablement (Furnish you sustainably) a nice encounter with the creator Vincent Letourneux

Thursday 16 February 2012

January 2012, I’m on the booth of Marron Rouge at Maison & Objet and two people (of the opposite sex!) Present themselves to me, because they are touring the exhibitors of the Collectif du Développement Durable  (Sustainable Development Collective) on the same show.
They come to see our products, but I’m also curious to know what they do and they call their teaching: MEUBLEZ-VOUS DURABLEMENT (Furnish You sustainbly). Here is a name that sounds good to my ears!

Through this exchange I immediately wanted to know more in order to share this wonderful encounter.

Vincent Letourneux comes from an international family, and after a mastery of foreign languages applied to trade (LEA English Spanish to The School of Tours): “I decided to travel to England, Spain, then in Japan in 1997 as a French teacher for beginners. From Japan I traveled to Vietnam with a simple backpack to meet people, then in Thailand. This was the first contact with vulnerable populations. I remember the joy of life, humility and courage to those in need of everything, but who still believe in the future. Beautiful life lesson that will let me go back to school later in the belief that things are still possible at any age.

The fact of traveling you forge an understanding of all cultures and beings that inhabit our planet: “Being part of the remaining quotas are called, I had the chance to do my military service on the helicopter carrier Jeanne d’Arc . Language teacher in charge of the center, I participated in the campaign around the world that began in November 1998.
I take from this experience the rich exchanges (a bit forced on a ship of 750 people!) The need for context and especially the openness necessary for the balance of each. Over the stopovers, Cuba, Honduras, Florida, Acapulco, San Francisco, Hawaii, Tokyo, Singapore, Djibouti, Istanbul, Lisbon and Brest, the difference in lifestyle, wealth gaps between countries, reducing distances, while begins to make sense. This is going to meet people that one gets a global culture.

It is also during this experience that Vincent will have confirmation of its commitment: “It’s when I realized that the values which we believe are stronger than the orders that we receive. And that the satisfaction of staying true to its values is greater than the penalty that can impose on us. ”

Necessarily after starting life as rich, naturally Vincent began his professional career in tourism and study abroad. Originally from the Loire Valley, after all these movements he decided to land and between “just happen” in the furniture industry. Vincent also takes up his studies and he wrote a memoir on sustainable development and the furniture industry.

In 2011, the project Meublez-vous Durablement (Furnish you sustainably) point the tip of his nose. And we explained Vincent’s three goals. “The primary objective is to demonstrate that it is possible to adopt a sustainable development policy, even for a small business or a SOHO (without committing substantial resources). It is now necessary to think differently. Economic profitability is required to sustain a business. However, do not forget the man and the planet. The second objective is to encourage consumers to become consum’actors by focusing on responsible purchasing and making their voices heard through an online survey. The third objective is to create a network to promote exchanges between players in the sustainable development of the sector Furniture and Decoration. For professionals, the designer, the raw material supplier, from manufacturer to distributor, all are related and need to exchange more easily. You will Durably Furnish a trading platform that specializes in decorating and furnishing. ”

Beautiful course and great ideas and Vincent none the less a man of taste he gives us his favorite heart that he saw on the last session of House and Objects in January 2012:

First Recycling: the concept of 3 lives to an object has really conquered in Nahan. Giving a second life cycle and then a third, is an idea full of meaning!

The second blow of heart: Create a Style, what audacity! Jean Claude et Muriel Labarrère, revisit the historical style and perpetuate a family tradition that began in 1870. What audacity that the aesthetic bias they have chosen to create the trend of natural history cabinet, almost gross! Far patinas, lacquers and other wear too polluting, natural wood furniture gives a force that ennobles. It is noticeable at first glance! Hats off!

The third and last  favorite is an artisan French meaningful and of value. Drugeot Lab is a French factory of Maine and Loire. The two brothers who run cabinetmakers offer furniture made with assembly techniques without glue or screws. PEFC certified raw wood, they demonstrate that there is room for furniture and decoration and natural quality. We are rediscovering woodworking techniques and their benefits on health rights, removal of the product and the low impact on the planet.

I would really like to thank Vincent for this “eco-nfession” and this commitment. Check the website Furnish you permanently and you just won and moreover when you know the “guy” who is behind the canvas and well we can only applaud!

4 au Carré (4 in square) : 4 girls in the wind…

Monday 6 February 2012

Four girls in the wind …. ??!
They are not English and they do not sing either! (For the second point, I do not know, I advance, perhaps!)
But damn what are they doing? Who are they?
Go even one of outstanding ……

What do they do?  4 au Carré (4 in Square) is a collective of four designers from different backgrounds and creating additional furniture and accessories for hotels, restaurants, shops, offices, and communities. Besides it’s beautiful what they do. They were present on the exhibition Vivre le Design with Marron Rouge in  Lyon in early September on the Home Design Show. They did not start in a yellow submarine, but in four containers …..
The suspense is at its worst ……., tick, tock, tick, tock ….
I show you the pictures of containers …

Here you can see the full album of the containers

Well you’ve found!?? No …!

I give you the solution:

Elsa Somano

Lisa Lejeune

Mathilde Alexandre (Mademoiselle Dimanche)

Maud Garnier (UltraSofa)

These four young women I met them several times and I even worked with one of them for part of the layout of my stand on Maison et Objet. Mademoiselle Dimanche had designed for Marron Rouge lighting

Well I think I have said enough and I will introduce them individually

Elsa Somano: Elsa created luminous objects point by point (!) Aluminum design a beautiful uncluttered “What made me want to work with and get this group is to share as much by our experiences (good and bad). I met three great people who work like me who have small business structures in the design and interior decoration. They are more involved in life and know how to share ”

I also asked her what inspired Elsa environment, ecology and sustainable development, and on it she was very straightforward:
“I do my best in my life every day to pay attention to the environment in my small scale. About my work because even though aluminum is a recyclable material, this is a difficult operation at my level because it requires a lot of energy. Make a beautiful light with energy saving lamps we’re not there yet. ”
Want to know more about Elsa and her designs: http://www.elsa-somano.com

Lisa Lejeune is a designer specializing in furniture.

“I tried to get closer to professional architects. Elsa Somano, who likes to put people in touch, we proposed to regroup in order, firstly, be able to offer a more comprehensive offering: furniture, lighting, textiles for any project … architecture and decoration. other hand, we mutualize four ways, contacts, we share experiences. and finally, I have been working three years with manufacturing partners, a workshop manufacturing and prototyping, where there is practically only boys!! 4 au Carré  is the feminine side of my scale collaborative! ”
Like Elsa I asked him what inspired the environment, ecology and sustainable development: “I work with the material rather than wood, from my training. With The Factory, the studio that I work with Francheville (in the area of Lyon , France) mainly, we always propose solutions to customers the most environmentally-friendly. we prefer native wood, wood of local origin (Jura, Franche Comté …) as exotic woods difficult to trace. we use non-VOC glues and varnishes and prefer panels with low formaldehyde emission. ”
Treat yourself to know more info about Lisa: http://lisa-lejeune.com/lisa-lejeune-mobilier-acc.html

Mathilde Alexandre (Mademoiselle Dimanche): Mademoiselle Dimanche is a trademark of textiles and decorative accessories created by Mathilde Alexandre, textile designer with a passion for patterns and colors.

“With Elsa and Maud, had already had the opportunity to exhibit together, and then to compare our products and our universe. And it turned out that it worked very well together. And with the world of Lisa, it’s also very consistent. The idea was born of the collective under the leadership of Elsa and Maud, and when they told me about it, it soon became obvious: our products work together, we have all four of the Approaches to Work and our businesses close enough, we have the same policy … The fact of coming together can offer a whole range of services and products we can not offer individual, while retaining their distinct identities. ”

Mathilde delivers us his thoughts on ecology: “I am not an ecology “terrorist”  or sustainable development. But it seems to me utterly inconceivable to ignore these issues when something happens. In my work I do “at best” with the means that are mine and with the opportunities I offer my partners, in line with my product. This requires the choice of production locations (in France rather than elsewhere), by choice of materials …
I also links these environmental issues in respect of man, it seems to me that one can not go without the other. ”
For those unfamiliar with Mademoiselle Dimanche: http://www.mademoiselledimanche.com

Finally we conclude with Maud Garnier from UltraSofa , designer sofas and contemporary objects.

Maud & Elsa

“Coming together creates a truly dynamic creative, communicative and enthusiastic.
It is a sharing experience, knowledge and networks. We are able to make an offer to larger customers. Our four different universes all emphasize our commonalities: an ethical eco-friendly with a local manufacturing, offers a collection of custom and a real customer service: specifications to customer delivery. ”

What we said Maud on the environment: “Designer sofas and contemporary objects, our products are of French manufacture, and we use local artisans working with the best materials manufacturing methods expert. The concept: leading-edge design, quality French for an eco-responsible product at very affordable prices for large and small. ”

Go to discover the universe of UltraSofa: http://www.ultrasofa.com

You think now that I’m going to stop because I have presented the four young women well no!

We whish to these four talents long life
